Art gallery of New South Wales Which is, in your opinion, the most interesting piece of art and why? The artwork that impressed me the most at the Art Gallery of New South Wales was Dibirdibi Country (2010) by Aboriginal artist Sally Gabori . I find it especially interesting because it isn’t just a painting — it’s a personal connection to her homeland. Gabori painted the landscapes of her island not to show them literally, but to express memories, identity and emotion. That gives the piece a depth that goes far beyond its bright colours. What has drawn your attention the most? What caught my attention the most was the energy of the painting. The bold colours and sweeping brushstrokes make the landscape feel alive, almost moving. Even without showing realistic shapes, the artwork gives you a strong sense of the sea, the wind and the land that meant so much to the artist.
